Marker drawings
Markers is my favourite drawing tool - though I still have a long way to go. I am completely self taught with this tool. I transfer a lot of my skill from this tool to many other mediums: specifically the precision and layering. Similarly to digital drawing tools, an excess amount of layers can become messy and difficult to manage, so a certain degree of economical approach is required.
It is also with markers most of my experimentation happens. You have to be bold to work with markers and I have often lost work to problematic and unfinished techniques - but failure is a great opportunity to improve.
Experimentation with perspective and rendering rocks.
An experiment to create a bright galaxy that could blend with the character.
No, not markers, but this was transferring skills from working with markers to a different medium. In this case: gouache painting
Exploration of dynamic posing
Sometimes small tests are more fun to do on larger projects. This was an exploration of rendering irritated skin
Early trial with odd colours as shading.
A work in progress. I want to explore unhealthy complexions and large wounds in relation to a zombie as well as detailed background elements. The project stopped temporarily as one of my markers died.
